Under China’s national “3060” dual‑carbon goals, enhancing energy efficiency remains the most feasible, effective, and cost‑efficient pathway to achieving climate targets in the medium and short term. To peak carbon emissions by 2030, improving energy efficiency could account for roughly one quarter of the required emission reductions. Industrial and building energy conservation are key priority areas; industrial energy consumption accounts for approximately 70% of the total, while for manufacturing enterprises, auxiliary and support equipment typically consumes 30%–50% of the facility’s overall energy use. Among these, heating and cooling systems alone represent 40%–70% of auxiliary‑equipment energy demand. Consequently, HVAC energy consumption has become a major component of both industrial plant operations and building energy use, making it a primary focus for energy‑saving, cost‑reduction, and efficiency‑improvement initiatives across the economy. However, due to distinctive Chinese construction and design practices, HVAC systems continue to face persistent challenges—such as airflow imbalances, water‑balance issues, uncontrolled humidity, and elevated energy consumption—that have yet to be comprehensively and intelligently resolved.
